    3. I show John William Spurlin's wife as Martha Mary C. Maddox, b. 6 Feb 1863, d. 6 Dec 19445, the daughter of Matthew and Martha [Bowden] Maddox. Her death certificate suggested that the C. probably stood for Catherine. I don't think John Spurlin died until 1924, and they were supposedly still having children through about 1905, so I don't see how this Martha Mary could have married a J. B. Vaughn, Jr. in 1899. Appreciate corrections and clarification on this. W. Smith Tarpon Springs, FL
