Andy(now Cuney,Texas) was a newly developed settlement for freed slaves. Andy is listed as having been born in SC. His wife Mary was born in Tx, but her parents are listed as being from Alabama. Andy is 36 in 1870 and Mary is 16 yrs old. Their oldest son, Will Bragg later married my grandmother's aunt, Caroline McClendon. I am trying to make some connection with the correct area in Alabama that the McClendons came from. My gggrandfather is Dan(Daniel) McClendon he is listed along with his wife Margaret as being born in Alabama. At some point in time, oral family history says that Andy Bragg convinced Daniel McClendon to move to Texas and settle in Andy, Tex. A historical marker is now present in Cuney commemorating Andy Bragg. If anyone has any slight information please share. Thanks. James
