    1. [ALCOFFEE] Researching: McHENRY, BAILEY, DIXON, TURNER, BRAZELL, KNOTTS, HUGHES, PETERS, RICE, HALL, CUMBIE
    2. Hello to the forum. I have recently started researching my father's family line ....the McHENRYS. I have gathered someuseful information, but have hit a few brick walls. >From what I can determine, my ggg-grandfather was John C. McHenry, b. 1790 in NC/SC, d. 1860 in Covington County, AL. Records indicate that his wife was named India ?, born in SC. They had 6 children...will list Martha, married RICE, then married William Andrew HALL in Crenshaw County in 1868. Deliliah, married Larkin DIXON, 1858 in Butler County, AL Levica, married Handy PETERS in 1871, Crenshaw County Noah, (my gg-grandfather) married Rhoda MOORE from GA in 1868. They had 10 kids, but only 8 survived...they are...Callie Jerine (married Barton CUMBIE in 1888, Crenshaw County), William M. (married Mary E. McCARTHA(Y) in 1900, George Thomas (married PETTY), Wheeler (married HUGHES), Herbert, my g-grandfather, married 1st Bettie NORSWORTHY and had one daughter, Velma Drucilla McHenry KNOTTS, and he second married Willie BAILEY, daughter of Steve and Rinda Bailey), Dock, married Magnolia Vinie BAILEY (she was Willie Bailey's sister) and Cleveland that married Lillie Brazell. Mary,b. 1847 I have no documention on her whatsoever and little India, b. 1849 and I have no papers on her as well I cannot find a trail for Deliliah and Larkin Dixon and Mary McHenry, and India. What happened to Martha after her and Andrew married is a mystery, and so is Callie CUMBIE and her decendants. My g-uncles Cleveland and Wheeler I cannot find either. It is rumored that Cleveland ran a store in Montgomery and Wheeler moved to Texas. I believe John C. had a brother/nephew (not sure yet) named William McHenry. He was married to Anna and had LOTS of kids. I also believe that William had a sister, Rebecca, that married James TURNER. A MCHENRY MYSTERY - there is a Sarah McHenry listed in the 1830 Butler County Census. I believe her father to be William WAGSTER who died 1832 in Lowndes County. He left a will and left land to his sons in South Carolina. He is more than likely from there. Does ANYONE out there know anything about this Sarah?????? I welcome anything in relation to this family line, as well as ties to other family lines. I am doing an extensive research and need all the info I can get. ANY INFORMATION IS APPRECIATED. Thank you in advance for your reply....Jennyfer McHenry-Scarbrough
