Hi all, >From the Ancestry.Com list of Alabama Deaths 1908-59, I have several RUDD's whose names appear in Coffee County for which I would like to obtain a copy of a death certificate simply to obtain information such as parentage, etc. Does anyone know of a way to obtain a "non-certified" copy of such documents without having to go through the process of writing to Vital Records and pay them $12 per certified copy? That would get very expensive just to find out basic data. I know here in Washington, DC, one can go to the DC Archives and pull actual death certificates and make xerox copies of them on the spot or they will make the copies and mail them to you given enough time. It is much cheaper than going through vital records. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Harry Rudd Bowie, Md
