Not only will you be in somebody's database, you will have no control over how your DNA is used. And probably you won't have any guarantee of privacy. For example, there's probably nothing that would stop the folks in the project doing research on the connection between DNA and diseases like cancer. Or the link between DNA and alcoholism. Nothing like reading in the newspaper that your family has had a predisposition to alcoholism going back 400 years.
