I have a 1920 Federal Population Census showing a HOLLOWAY, Katie, age 16, living as an adopted daughter of a PARKER, S.S., age 35, and wife PARKER, Alice, age 34 living in Birmingham,Jefferson County, AL. I am intested in finding out if the adoption was actually a true adoption. If so what happened to HOLLOWAY, Katie....I have heard stories that she married a military man and moved to CA. When I have no idea of married name. HOLLOWAY, Katie was the birth daughter of ECHOLS, Rosa Lee don't know fathers first name. ECHOLS, Rosa Lee married three times...first HOLLOWAY (had dau. Katie and son (Walter)Sam) 2nd married GILMORE, Ira (dau Irene) and 3rd GALLOWAY, Bert. I also have the 1910 Federal Population Census for Parsons, Jefferson County, AL showing, HOLLOWAY, Katie, age 5, living with her grandparents....ECHOLS, (Absolum) Walter and wife ECHOLS, (KNIGHT) Sarah M. Her mother is living there also but under the ECHOLES name??? I'm not sure if there is a connection into Coffee County, AL but it is worth a try.
