Betty, I'm looking for JONES family info., but more in the timeframe of 1865-1890. Specifically, I'm looking for my g-gmother Georgiann Rebecca JONES b: abt. 1867/68. Her parent's names are unknown to me , but she married John Carlton CARPENTER. My gfather John Littleton CARPENTER, was b: 30 Sept 1889 in Elba, Coffee, AL. I found JC and Georgiann, aka Becky living in Orlando on the 1920 census and if the census is correct, she was born in AL. I can't find their marriage license and of course no birth certificates...so I have nothing to go on for the JONES family. I feel fairly certain there must have been continued ties to Coffee Co., because one of their children Shep CARPENTER (1900-1922) returned to Elba and was killed in a sawmill accident and is buried at Danley Crossroads.
