Posted on: Coffee County Alabama Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Coffee/10335 Surname: JONES, SIMMONS, PATRICK, GUNTER ------------------------- Henry D. W. Jones (b. GA 1804/05) married MARY A. SIMMONS (b. NC 1803/04, d/o of William Simmons). They and their children are listed on the 1850 Coffee Co., AL, census. They are on the 1830 Pike Co. census, and 1840 Dale Co. census, but could have lived in the same place - only county name changed as new counties were added. One daughter, REBECCA JONES b. 1836, m. GEORGE GUNTER, s/o of Fair Gunter. Another daughter, EMILY JONES b. 1834, m. SOLOMON PATRICK.(Emily and Solomon are in Mobile Co. in 1860 with 5 children, but cannot find Emily or Solomon or 2 of the children again - 3 of the children seem to be living with Henry D. W. in 1870). There is another daughter, ELIZABETH JONES, b. 1837/38. Would like to find information about who she married and what happened to her. And there was another daughter, ELIZA JONES. I cannot find a record of her past the 1850 census, when she was a child. Also, I am looking for information on the oldest son, WILLIAM H.JONES b. 1832. I cannot locate him between 1860 (possibly in Mobile Co. then) and 1900, when he appears on the Leake Co., MS, census with a second wife. It seems he was married first in 1853 - probably in Coffee Co., AL. On the 1860 Mobile Co., AL, census, there is a W. H. Jones living next door to the George Gunters, and living with him is Elizabeth R. - perhaps his wife if he indeed married in 1853, but no children are listed. I would appreciate any information concerning: WILLIAM H. JONES, ELIZABETH JONES, ELIZA JONES, and SOLOMON AND EMILY JONES PATRICK. Will be happy to exchange information.
