Hey Coffee County Group, I am interested in all the conversation about the Taylor family. Unfortunately, I don't have time these days to do research, but my husband, Stanley, and I both have Taylor connections. Mine are in north Alabama, but his Taylors are from southeast Alabama. He descends from Elias Jefferson Taylor who was born in SC, and was in Stewart Co., GA in the 1850 census. We do not know Elias Jefferson Taylor's parents. Elias Jefferson Taylor's family listed in the 1850 census are wife Elizabeth age 35?, daughter Mary age 16, son Herring age 13, son Charles age 10, daughter Sarah age 8, daughter Emily age 6, and daughter Margaret age 1. Stanley descends through daughter Margaret Taylor who was born in Stewart Co., GA, but later settled in southeast Alabama. She died in 1940 in what's now Geneva Co. She married John Henry Frazier in Dale Co., AL in 1869. Does this line connect with any of your Taylor's that you know of? I find it interesting that both lines originated in SC and then settled in the southeast area of Alabama.
