    3. Poley Alabama was a small community located about 2 miles west of present-day Opp, Alabama in Covington County. It was near the junction of Lightwood Knot Creek and Poley Creek. Gus and Ruby Bryan's book, "Covington County History" has several pages (pp. 194-198) on the history of this community.
