I am still looking for my WATSONS in Coffee, Dale, and Geneva counties. GGG-grandfather, BRIGHT WATSON disappears from census 1860 (Newton, Dale Co) but no burial place, death date, or further records. His daughters, Louise/Louisa and Frances K (or middle initial "R").....no further record after 1850 & 1860. 1850 Frances K ("R"....perhaps Rebecca?) is age 17 and living in household with her parents, Bright and Mary Watson. 1860 Louise/Louisa Watson lives with her "widowed" mother Mary Watson in Newton, Dale Co, and is age 14....born GA 1846-47. Does anyone have information on who Frances and Louise/Louisa married? Was Bright Watson a brother (or son) to Reddick Watson? In 1860 Bright Watson's widow, Mary, lived in Newton next to Bright Byrd and Esther Matthews.....2nd wife of Bright BYRD. 1870 Mary Watson lived next to her daughter Mary and Jefferson Meyers in Rocky Head near Ariton. 1880 Mary Watson lived in Clintonville with son Joseph Howell Watson and in 1888 apparently lived with son Isaac A. Watson near Slocomb, Geneva Co AL. Mary is buried at Pilgrim Rest Cem in Houston Co west of Dothan. Mary Watkins Watson - 1808- 1888.
