    3. Pity those who research Smiths.. I'm searching for a Smith who married Redonia Butts just before the War for Southern Independence. She had two children on the 1870 Coffee County, Alabama census and listed herself as a widow. Redonia's parents moved from Barbour County sometimes in the 1860s,where they were on that census, although they were on the 1855 Coffee Census. The Butts family was related to the family of Bryant Smith and wife, Lucy Jane Pittman, through marriage through the Wood and Pittman family. Redonia was last found on the 1910 Coffee census. I believe her Smith husband was killed in the War and I find no evidence that Redonia ever remarried. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated. ....willie -----Original Message----- >From: "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Oct 15, 2007 12:59 PM >To: ALCOFFEE-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [ALCOFFEE] William & Mary Smith > >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Author: jhidle1351 >Surnames: Smith, Killingsworth. >Classification: queries > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.alabama.counties.coffee/3272/mb.ashx > >Message Board Post: > >Looking for info on descendants of William & Mary Smith born abt. 1818 in NC and appear in the 1860, 1870 & 1880 Coffee Co. censuses.
