I apologize for using the list to make a personal contact, but awhile back someone named Betty sent me an email with the subject "Watsons", which I could not open. It went to my old e-mail account at Snowhill. I'm hoping you're on one of these lists, Betty, and that you'll contact me again at hyacinth@ala.net. Thanks Georgia Fleming
Please excuse me for contacting you by using Betty's message, but it is seldom that anyone refers to Watson.....I am a Watson and my father was born in Coffee County, Alabama....he is deceased and so is everyone that I knew in the family. I have one brother and one sister living and they know very little about the family also. My Grandfather's name was Robert Floyd Watson December 26, 1895 and he married Mae Averrett on Jan 11, 1914 in Dale County that is all that I know other than my gereration. Can you help me? I would sincerely appreciate any assistance you could give me in finding anything else about my Father's family. Please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you for any help you can offer. I didn't find a Robert Watson born 1895 in the 1900 Alabama Census (I'm using an on-line index so I wouldn't guarantee that to be infallible) <g> but I did find a "May Averette", born in August 1894, in the household of William Averette (born June 1854 in Alabama, father born in Georgia, mother born in South Carolina) and his wife Georgia. They were in Dale County. I found Robert Watson born December 26 1895 in the Social Security Death Index. You might try sending for a death certificate to see if it gives the names of his parents. My Waston chart is here: http://www.flemingmultimedia.com/Genealogy/watsondesc.html I hope we can connect somewhere. Best wishes, Georgia Fleming Enterprise
