2. Hi All Recieved this from Loma Grimes Cross, have wondered how this Felix Grimes, might connect to the Al. Grimes of Coffee Co., Al. does anyone know ?? Thank you Subj: Re: [GRIMES-List] Felix Grimes Date: 12/7/2001 12:14:42 AM Eastern Standard Time From: lkcwks@msn.com (Loma Cross) To: CGT714@aol.com Thanks for your response. Felix Grimes is my great great great grandfather. I have information that he came over on a ship and that is where he met his wife, Catherine Hull. They came from Ireland about the close of the French and Indian War. Moved to Greenbriar Co. VA soon after the Revolution. A lot of the Grimes family stayed in VA, some went to Ohio, some went to Iowa and my grandfather, Marion Scott Grimes, came to Kansas. I believe he is the only one to come here. My grandfather was born in Parkersburg, W. VA, Wood County, later moving to Harper, KS where he lived until is death in 1939. My father was his only son, but he had five daughters. I was an only child. I married in 1952 and have 3 sons and still live in Kansas. I am also working on genealogy for my mothers side of the family (maiden name Way and I haven't been able to find much on them), my father's mother's side of the family (Wood) and also working on my grandmother's family (maiden name Brane). I haven't been too active this past year - just kind of got stuck and couldn't go any further. Every once in a while, I will get on the internet and see what I can find, but I haven't really found out too much, but maybe I just don't where to look. I have had pretty good luck at the local library, but as you know, it is very time consuming. I do have some genealogy software that I use and I have about 9 pages of the Grimes family starting with Felix if anyone would be interested. Thanks again. Loma Grimes Cross > ----- Original Message ----- > From: CGT714@aol.com > To: GRIMES-List@yahoogroups.com ; lkcwks@msn.com > Sent: Thursday, December 06, 2001 9:02 PM > Subject: Re: [GRIMES-List] Felix Grimes > > > In a message dated 12/6/2001 7:47:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, > lkcwks@msn.com writes: > > > > >> I am new to this group. Just found out about it through a message >> from this group indicating a link to a Felix Grimes. >> >> Thank you Christine Thacker - it was through your message that I was >> able to find some more on my ancestor, Felix Grimes. I have quite a >> bit of information, but am still filling in bits and pieces that I >> find. My maiden name was Grimes. A lot of my ancestors were from >> Pocahantas Co.
