By coincidence, I saw G.A. Bell & Lady on the ship's passenger list of "Washington", an American steamer, which arrived at the port of New York, Nov. 28, 1851 in the early morning. I was looking for my husband's Irish ancestors who left Ireland because of the severe Irish Potato Famine. You can find this at: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:3WBC4EIlKBYJ:www.theshipslist.com/ships/ passengerlists/nyt/washington1851.htm+G+A+Bell+site:theshipslist.com/ships/p assengerlists/&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&lr=lang_en If this link doesn't work, Google "Passenger List - Washington, Bremen & Southampton". I know there were a lot of Bell's in Ireland and suspect that they have some kind of relationship to my husband's Nelson family, from Antrim Co., Belfast.
