I have tried to link my Hughes to other Hughes's in the surrounding counties but haven't connected yet. I do believe Ransom Hughes was maried to Elizabeth Fillingim. I don't have any proof other than a story that was printed in the Historical Book of Coffee County that I actually found in the Library in Alexander City, AL. where I live. It was written by Ransoms great granddaughter, Jewell Rachels Wesley. I have found census records of the Fillingim family in Coffee County. I also found someone else who had researched the Fillingim family back to wales. They didn't have her name listed, but she did fit in as one of the children they had a birth date and no name for. If anyone needs info on the Fillingim family contact me and I will send info. As for the Hughes family, I have followed the Fillingim's in census records to hopfully find the Hughes's living close by. no luck yet. I do believe the Hughes's that were living close by could be brothers of Ransom. Not giving up! Again, Thanks for your replies. Shelia
