Ransom Hughes is my ggreat grandfather. He married Elizabeth Fillingim. I have them in the 1850-1880 Coffee co. census records. But I can't seem to find out who Ransom's parents were. The 1850 census states he was born in NC. All other census records state that he was born in Georgia. Acordding to these records, Ransom and Elizabeth had 9 children. William, Andrew Jackson, Daniel Pinkson, Ransom M.,Gillian E., Augustus(my grandfather), Matilda Roxanna, George W., and Victoria. There were a lot of Fillingims in Balwin Co AL and Escambia Co FL early on. I'm not researching that name but it is unusual and I keep running into it in those counties. Maybe the Hughes were there too???? Nina
