    3. I have 2 Zilphias in my Coon files, the 1st was Zilphia Jane Coon, b. 12 May 1880, d/o Thomas Delaney Coon & Eliza Ann Margaret Holloway, this one married Gus M. Terrell. The other is Thomas Delaney's granddaughter, Zilphia, b. Nov 1896, d/o William H. "Bill" Coon & Susan F. (nee?), I don't know who this one married. There are many many NEALs in my files but none named John Henry. Tell me more about him, when was he born and who were his parents? It's also rumored that the father of Nancy Strickland's children was a NEAL.     3. Does anyone know who WJ Coon is? Descendants of W. J. Coon Generation No. 1 1. W. J. Coon He married Celia L Dannelly, daughter of Hardy Dannelly and Julie Adams. She was born Abt. 1868. Child of W. Coon and Celia Dannelly is: 2 i. Jay Coon, born February 24, 1892 in Elba, Coffee Co., AL; died October 11, 1939 in Okaloosa Co., Fl. For those on the list who do not understand to what is being mentioned, Barbara's email is below concerning the Teel Cemetery vandalism. Phyllis J. K. Owens In a letter written to the Opp News, J.D. Bedsole writes that on July 4th, wooden crosses he and brother, Cecil, built and installed for the unmarked graves, were torn from the ground, tombstones damaged and the mailbox destroyed. Barbara A.     3. Did you receive my mail re recent destruction at Teel Cemetery? Will be happy to contribute to you PRAM (Please Replace a Marker) @ Cool Springs. It has been my intention to perform complete survey of this cemetery as the one online only includes those in the contributor's family but never seem to have time or weather isn't right to do so. Had planned to do it when there in June but couldn't leave research to do so. Will write to J.D. I have two relatives there whose stones have deteriorated and had checked w/Pea River many moons ago about their markers but they no longer have volunteer who will deliver and stones much too heavy for me or Margie to p/u. Perhaps, if you get positive results from your plea, Margie and I can buy these stones and include them in with the Coon's for placement at same time. Barbara A. I would like to share your stories and facts with Anne Herbert Feathers at the Alabama Historical Association. Thank you kindly for your help. You all take care now..... Phyllis J. K. Owens Alabama Historical Association sent a letter It says: As a way of collecting stories and legends about Alabama Courthouses for a talk to the Alabama Historical Association at the 2008 annual meeting, I am writing to local historical associations with the hopes that their members might have information about such lore associated with the courthouses in their counties. I hope you can help me. I am aware that courthouses in your county burned in 1851 and again in 1863 and am especilly interested in an facts, rumors. or other information about the fires. Many stories have grown up about barious courthouse burnings around the state, and I would like to include some of them in my talk. Certainly, if there are any such stories about Coffee County, I would like to include them. Also, any other stories or unusual features that you know about your current or former couthouses would be apperciated. If you can help me, please include sources for your stories. I am using many unverifiable tales (myths. so to speak) but at least would like to credit the person who told the story to me. Since the legth of my talk is limited, each narrative must necessarily be brief. If you know others who might be able to help, please pass this to them also. I certainly don't want to leave out a good story about a Coffee County Courthouse! Thank you so much for helping me gather information on this project. I am looking forward to hearing frim you.
