Posted on: Coffee County Alabama Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Coffee/10451 Surname: CLEGHORN, RICE ------------------------- Thanks for responding to my inquiry. I don't know yet if I. D.'s name was Idee like his son's or if the I. stood for something else. My mother-in-law always called his son Cousin Dee. On his mother's headstone it reads Mary E. Cleghorn. Her mother's name was Emily B. Rice. So,her name is Mary Emily Rice Cleghorn. I did not know her husband's name, but I do have some of their children. I believe that Mary Cleghorn came to Grimes Co., TX in 1878 with her mother and brothers. They are all buried in Grimes Co., TX. I'll send her what I have on the Cleghorns as soon as I add this new information. This is great. The Rice's btw lived in Covington Co., AL and Pike Co., AL.

Posted on: Coffee County Alabama Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Coffee/10446 Surname: Harper ------------------------- Lucille, My grandmother Edna Harper Wood mentioned a bit of information a few years ago that really didn't make any sense, that is until maybe now. She mentioned that her father John William Harper had a 1/2 brother named Cephus Harper. I have looked high and low for a Cephus Harper, but was never able to find him anywhere. She also mentioned that on several occasions that Cephus her a daughter that would write letters to her and that she had lived in Samson, Alabama. I have information on the Harper family. Most of the Harpers were from Elba, Coffee County, Alabama. I would like to find out more about your Cephus. I believe this is the person that I have been searching for. Thanks in advance, Greg Wood
