2. This has nothing to do with any surnames but thought you all might like to see it. Click here: Genealogy.com: Word meanings This is what caught my eye, the Jr realy had us going while doing research for the Grimes in Stewart Co., Ga. history book. When we use the words "junior" and "senior," we normally think of a father and son relationship. However, in the past, these words were used much more liberally and could refer to an uncle and nephew, or even to two people with the same name who were unrelated. Christine Grimes Thacker

    2. Hello Janice, Saw your posting on the ALCOFFEE board. I am interested in your Georgia Ann Cleghorn Creech Harrison. I am kin to Creech, and Harrison. Was she married at one time to a Creech? and then a Harrison? Which ones? I have a cousin, Peggy Creech Lee>her father was Leland Monroe Creech> and> his father was William Creech. William married my mother's older sister, Gussie Harrison. They had two sons, Leland and Ore Creech. Gussie died after William(Will) as he was called, and my Grandfather Moses Haney Harrison, of Opp, Kinston, Geneva, raised the two boys as his on. Would love to hear from you or anyone that could shed some light on William Creech's parents, etc.

Homer, This Moses Harrison was the nephew of William Grancer Harrison. Charlotte Harrison, Grancer's daughter, apparently did not marry. Charlotte was living near Grancer and her brothers and sisters in 1860. Her son Moses was probably buried in Harrison Cemetery. However many of the markers were made of wood and have long since decayed.

Posted on: Coffee County Alabama Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Coffee/10530 Surname: Wise ------------------------- Are you from Samson or Geneva, Alabama perchance? Lisa Parker is a familiar name to me from when I lived in that area, I just can't recall how I know that name! If that is where you are, check the archives at Geneva Publications and meet with the people in Geneva who own the Live Oaks Bed and Breakfast, that house was almost underwater in the flood of (I think this is the right year) 1929. All I can say is I lost my house in the flood on July 5, 1994...which is a LARGE part of why I no longer live in that area!!!

    1. [ALCOFFEE] re: Moses Harrison
    2. Peg & Dave Leslie
    3. There appear to be 2 Moses Harrisons. One was the son of William "Grancer" Harrison and died between the 1860 census and 1867 when the probate was filed. The other Moses was the son of Charlotte Harrison and grandson of William "Grancer" Harrison. He is listed on the 1860 census with her, age 20. Maybe this will eliminate some of the confusion about conflicting war records for Moses Harrison. Moses Harrison, age 30, son of Grancer, is listed on the 1860 census as head of his own family.
