Hi All, Can you help further identify this JOHN COOLEY b about 1800 in NC and migrated thru SC and GA to Henry Co, AL about 1833.  It is believed he married Penelope Hughes/Hughs b 1802 in SC.  They had children Louisa b 1833 in SC and Alfred b 1834 in Henry Co, AL.  John may have been killed while an Indian Scout for the U.S. Gov.  Penelope later married Jeremiah Lolley b 1814 in GA.  (Ref. 1850 Census Coffee Co, AL). John

Boswell who died some time after 1910, this was the last record I found on him was in the 1910 coffee co. census. all I have is the year of birth which was 1847. is there anyone there that could help me or tell me what it would cost to do a death cert. search, I know it is 12.00 to send for a copy of it but do not know about the cost for a search after this year. Oates, who was a colonel with the 15th Alabama, there is an appendix listing the men who served. Company A, 15th Alabama, lists J.L. Culifer. This is what it says about him: "J.L. Culifer was enlisted January 17, 1863, when 30 years old. He came out as a recruit to the regiment. His first service was in the Suffolk, Virginia, campaign. He was a faithful soldier, and nearly always present for duty until in Lookout Valley, near Brown's Ferry, Tennessee, October 28, 1863, he was severely wounded and permanently disabled for further service, though never put on the retired list. He returned to his old home near Clintonville, in Coffee County, where he formerly resided. He reared a large family of children, was a member of the Court of County Commissioners, and a highly respected citizen.
