    3. According to what I find in the Pike Co. Heritage book, Martha A. Frances Boutwell, daughter of John Boutwell --1796-2/25/1887--and his first wife, Nancy) married George W . Grimes on 9/23/1865. Thomas Boutwell (1813-5/3/1883), brother of John Boutwell above, and his wife Caroline Stephens (married on 12/25/1844) had 6 children. Their daughter Louisa Boutwell (7/24/1858-3/19/1928) married William D. Grimes on 11/15/1885. She is buried at Union Springs Church, Pike Co. These are all the Grimes/Boutwell marriages I see in this particular family---although several given names of wives are listed without a surname. The Martha A. F. listed under John Grimes below I take to be the Martha A. Frances who married George W. Grimes. John Boutwell (Frances' father) is William Boutwell and mother Jane??(may have been a Dowling) who came from SC to Pike Co, AL about 1835. He had land s. of Troy and n. of Spring Hill. --Incidentally, this information comes from the files of Ane Wise Hood, 3363 Holland Road, Newton, AL 36352---a very nice woman whom I met at Pike Co. Library once and we had lunch together.
