I agree i have often wondered if this was his grandfather don't know grandpa doesn't remember hoped to connect with one of his siblings descendents but grandpa doesn't remember if his father had any bro. or sis. its a stab in the dark but maybe one day i can make a connection.

I think you have a missed generation in there. It is hard to believe a parent born in 1812 or 1814 could have a son born in 1878. <grin>
