Hello, I have a friend that is researching Mock/Johnson from in and around Coffee and Geneva county. Louvenia Johnson married James D. Mock b: March 25,1889 died Jan. 28,1940 , Louvenia Johnson b: May 26,1892 died: Jan.26,1992, they are both buried at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Janet has been told that Louvenia Johnson's mother's maiden name was Carnley. I have given Janet's e-mail adress, and surnames. Thanks for any help you can give to her.
Now I'm really confused. Your original message stated you were looking for the John W. Davis in the 1880 census of Coffee County. You posted your query on the Coffee County, Alabama message board. The children of John Wood Davis got married in Coffee County. You've thrown me for a loop!
Thanks for your help. If this John W's father's name was William, I can eliminate him from my line, and I don't believe I have a connection to Coffee county.
The family I gave you from the 1860 census. Note the wife's name is Leah. What was her age listed in the 1880 census?
The John Wood Davis is definitly the family I am looking for. Do you have anything on who his parents might be? Thanks!
Hi! Your John Davis sounds like he might be the brother of my great-great-grandfather Crispin Davis. Here they are in the 1860 census of Coffee County, Alabama: 1860 census Coffee County, Alabama - Precinct 7 Elba Davis William I. 56 m farmer 1200 750 SC Leah 50 f GA Singleton 20 m GA Margaret 17 f GA Crispin 15 m GA John 12 m GA Sarah 10 f GA I also found a family tree on rootsweb that includes a John Wood Davis John Wood Davis b 1848 married Sarah Elizabeth Taylor b 1853 children: William Singleton Davis b 1870 Loli b 1872 Mary Elizabeth b 7 apr 1874 R. Anyone having information on John Timothy Greene and his family listed in the 1860 Coffee Co, Census. Three small children were not listed in the 1870 census. Does anyone have info on any cemetaries around Elba? We know of a smallpox epidemic in this area in the 60's. I would appreciate any help!

Hi, I wonder if you would have any information on a John C. Brazell who was living in Barbour County in 1837; he bought a lot in Irwinton (now Eufaula) along with my ancestor Larkin Armstrong from a Benjamin Watson 1/7/1837; the next entry in Barbour County Deed Book B is where John C. Brazell bought a lot from Andrew Casey 1/2/1838. I just got off the phone with my sister in Enterprise (11:00 EDT). She said it rained last night, but not real bad. It's not raining there right now. The electricity is off in parts of Enterprise. She doesn't know what the situation is west of Enterprise.
