Can anyone help me fill in the blanks in the following census record? The handwriting of the enumerator combined with the fuzziness of the image made it difficult for me to read in the places I have marked with question marks. In fact, I'm not entirely sure of the part I thought I could read, so if you see any errors, please let me know. Thanks for this and any other information on this family! Nelda G. I have some confusing information in my database and I hope that someone can help me out. I have Woodard Monroe Hayes as a son of George W. Hays/Hayes. However, I have seen another source that lists him as a son of Nevin Hays/Hayes (brother of George W. that was killed in the Civil War.) I have a note in my database to myself that Woodard is found in the household of George W. Hays/Hayes in 1860, but I can't find a copy of the census record to verify that. Since what I've found on Woodard indicates that his year of birth is 1856 and since I have another son of George W. with a year of birth as 1856 but a different month it would be logical to assume that Woodard is not the son of George W., but perhaps a nephew in his household. Anyway, if those of you familiar with the Hays/Hayes family of Coffee Co. would help me clear up this matter, I'd be appreciative. I'm connected to the Hays/Hayes through the sister of George W. and Nevin, Elizabeth Samantha, who married Travis! Zaccheus Hildreth. Any other information on the Hays/Hayes family would be appreciated also. Thanks, Nelda G. Spires marnel@ellijay.com
Nelda, Would help me a great deal with the Coffee Confederate Cemetery Records if you could provide wives, b/d dates and maiden names for Confederate soldiers George W. and Joseph H. Hayes.....Thanks. Deo Vindice, Homer T.
