I'm wondering if Amanda followed her oldest daughter to Clay Co. from Coosa because we believe that John Q. Thomas was killed in the Civil War - we can't find either one in 1870. Perhaps Amanda remarried. Does anybody have an ancestor who might have married a young widow by that name in either Coosa or Clay Co.?
