M. Luker, age 10, born AL. I guess DHW, means domestic house wife???? This one’s new to me. In 1870: Luker, Wm age 85, farmer, born SC, mother foreign born Listed in household: Vallentine, age 40, born GA, mother foreign born, idiot Martha, age 30 born GA Catherine, 70, keeps house, born Germany, both parents foreign born Pothenia J., age 25, born GA, mother foreign born Francis M., age 19, works on farm, born GA, mother foreign born. This is the Wilhelm (William) F. Luker family. Benjamine Luker, District 33, Clay Co., AL, 57 with wife Eliza, age 53, and daughters Elizabeth, 33; Mary age 27, Emeline, age 26, Wilheim, age 16, Thomas age 14, and Leonidas, age 3/12. This is a VERY poor image and I guessed a some of this. This family lives next door to my maternal great-great grandparents, Johnathan and Nancy Golden, and 2 doors from my paternal great-great grandmother, Mahala Peeples. Also in 1880, Valentine (listed earlier as idiot), was listed in household of Martha, age 45, with sister Mathina J. age 28, and borther Valentine, age 60, laborer. Don’t understand the notation of Mathina, age 28, (born 1851-52) as sister. This is a BIG age different and would have made Wilhelm 68 years old and Catherine 67 when she was born???? The only child I shown after Francis M. was a Sarah, but don’t have a date of birth for her. Didn’t find any listings Alabama in 1880 for Francis Luker or Sarah Luker. Also no hits on Samanth Luker in 1880. In 1880 I found Marion Luker, age 30, born abt 1850, in Cherokee, District 18, AL with wife Adaline, age 26, and son, Milard O. age 3. In 1900, Samanth Luker, (age 49) born March, 1851, widow, was living in Lineville, Clay Co., Alabama, with son Millard Oscar, born June 1871. I would guess this is Adaline, wife of Marion, listed in 1880. Have to quit for today. Hope this helps.
