I have been researching this line for the last couple of years, but have not determined where Wilson or Ezekiel are buried. Actually, we went to the Fuller Reunion today, in Clay County, AL & were able to visit the cemetery where his grandfather & g grandfather were buried (Bethany Cemetery) If you ever determine where they are buried & would surely appreciate the information! His house was near a street bridge over a railroad running in a cut, possibly on 3rd Street. A sawmill was nearby on the railroad. The house was large with a carriage port in front and large rooms on either side of a central hallway. A water well was on the back porch and his blacksmith and woodworking ship was at the end of a short lane to the rear. His second wife, Ista Bartlett Blackstone is buried in the old Lineville cemetary but I do not know where he is buried. Also, I would like to find their marriage record. I would be grateful for any information on him. Thanks, W R (Bob) Blackstone

    1. Mineral Springs Methodist Church, Clay County
    2. Some of my ancestors are buried at Mineral Springs Methodist Church. Recently, in my research, I came across an entry that said this was the second Mineral Springs Methodist Church. It also said that there was a graveyard at the old church, but at the time of the writing of the book, the cemetery was overgrown. Does anyone know the location of the first Mineral Springs Church? In the Clay County Cemetery Record Book, the graveyard of the first church is not mentioned unless it is mentioned by a different name. Thanks for any help anyone can give. Sharon

I got that name off my birth mom's death certificate. I'm waiting now to get a copy in the mail from the social security administration of the form that was filled out where my birth mom got her social security number. I've heard that the form should give my birth mom's place where she was born and her parents full names. I know from her social security number that was on her death certificate that it was issued in Alabama and her death certificate also shows she was born in Alabama, but doesn't say where. I'll let you and the list know when I find out more.

    3. The Clay County Courthouse burned, so there are no marriage records available from the beginning of the County (1866) until about 1873. Several of the marriage records books after 1873 are online at the Clay County Rootsweb site. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jmccain66@bellsouth.net> To: <ALCLAY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 30, 2004 4:43 PM Subject: [ALCLAY] Starting date for Marriages in Clay CO? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: McCain, McGlon > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2R.2ADE/1290 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for the marriage record of James Madison McCain and Mary Elizabeth McGlon, who were probably married about 1867. I base that upon the birth of their first child in 1868. I suppose it could have been earlier. My question is this: Since Clay County was formed in 1866, at what date did they start recording marriages there? I was wondering if I should skip Ashland and try Talladega Co. (McCains were living in the Chandler's Springs area of Talladaga County in the 1860 census) > > > ==== ALCLAY Mailing List ==== > Visit Clay Co.
