    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Evans, Denny, Denney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2R.2ADE/1289.1.2 Message Board Post: Hi again Deone, I got a copy of the form from the social security administration the other week that I sent off for that is the form that my birth mother filled out to get her social security number. It shows her name at birth was Sara Grace Evans. It says she was born in Reeltown in Tuscaloosa county AL. It says her birthday is 10/11/28. It shows her father's name was Jessie Evans and her mother's maiden name was Violet Blanch Denney. The middle name maybe spelled Blanche. A friend of mine found on the 1910 census that Raslee Denney lived in Tallapoosa county and was born in GA. His wife's name was Lillie. They had 6 kids, Jessie L, Lillie, Robert, Cleone, Renny, and Violet B. I'm thinking this Violet B. maybe my grandmother. The 1930 census also shows for Reeltown, Tallapoosa county: Marvin Denny- head of house, Mandie Denny- wife, Syble- daughter, Johnie L.- son, R.L. Denny- father, and Blanche Evans- sister. So by this, Blanche's maiden name was Denny and her father's na! me was R.L. The census also shows Blanche, Marvin, and her parents were born in Georgia. I know the last name Denny is spelled different on both census, but I've heard last names on the census back then was spelled like it sounds. You can email me at rdf@cableone.net Please include on the subject line the name Violet Denny or just reply to me here, whatever is best for you.

    3. Samantha Jane (Cole) Harris was born 19 July 1846 in Chambers County, Alabama to Jesse Cole and wife Marjorie Ann (Colley) Cole. Samantha Jane Cole married Jordan Thornton Harris on 24 December 1865 in Chambers County, Alabama and they are known to have had eleven children who were all born at or near Delta, Clay County, Alabama. Jordan Thornton Harris was born 15 February 1843 in Chambers County, Alabama and died 11 August 1914 in Clay County, Alabama almost certainly at or near Delta. His widow, Samantha Jane (Cole) Harris died 16 July 1927 almost certainly at or near Delta, Clay County, Alabama. Jordan & Samantha are both buried in Blacks Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery which is located near Delta, Clay County, Alabama. The informant on the death certificate "H.F. Harris" is likely a son whose name was Huel Thornton Harris (18 Nov. 1873 - 21 July 1950). He married Susan A.J. Sims on 1 Aug. 1889. Two sibling/brothers of Huel Thornton Harris also married into the same Sims line. Thanks for posting the information from the death cert. Have included a bit more information for those who may be interested. Charles E.
