I dont know his sibling and having a hard time finding them. Any one with any information on him or the family please email me at Blessed0075@aol.com. Alabama You are invited to attend the dedication/monument unveiling Saturday, Oct. 30th, 2004 12:OO PM (CDT) at Old Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Lineville, Al. ( Clay Co.) for Daniel Character (my GGGgrandfather) born c1790 died 1884. Years of research has paid off & I have proof that Daniel served in the War of 1812 & also the Seminole War. With this proof, I ordered a marker through the Department of Veterans Affairs & will unveil it at the ceremony. Daniel & his wife Jemimah had 8 children: Margaret (married Aaron Dewberry) ( Daniel & Jemimah are buried beside them) Eliza Louisa (married Elisha Pepper) Sally Sarah (married Jonathan Rotton) Susan William (married Sarah Sally Moore) (my GGgrandparents) Thomas Giles (married Sarah Pippin) Any descendant that is interested in witnessing a great event needs to make plans to attend. Daniel was born approx 214 yrs. ago. He deserves a permanant marker (presently does not have one) along with a tribute to his life. He & Jemimah are responsible for many generations of Character descendants. La Velle Blackwell & I have combined our knowledge of this family & would love to know any history on the family that you would share. Any questions or directions to the cemetery, please e-mail me directly. (kmbussey@yahoo.com) Kitty Mc Carty Bussey

The SS-5 gives her parents as Joseph E. PRICE and Leana M. EAST. Nothing more on them except that in the 1920 and 1930 U.S. census it lists her parents as born in Alabama. Any information on Joesph E. PRICE and Leana M. EAST would be greatly appreciated and happily received. I am willing to share information as well. Just ask. Marshall

Paul: I don't have any additional info about the Moore ancestry but I can give you some information on a line of descent. Samuel & Anna Moore's daughter Mariah M. Moore married William Turner Smith. Their son, James Thompson Smith married Mary Susan Davis with whom he had 2 sons and 6 daughters. One of those daughters, Martha Emma Smith, was my paternal grandmother. I have lots of information (dates, places, spouses, siblings, etc) if you are interested. I would also love to have any info you have on the Moore's. Let me know if I have any info that you would want. From 1837 to 1880s, Samuel and Anna Moore and their family of four girls were living around Delta, Clay County, AL. According to their censuses, they were supposed to have come from SC. Samuel was the Minister at the Shiloh Church at Delta. Is anyone besides myself researching this family. Does anyone know of a connection they had with the other Moores in the area. One neighbor was a Nathan (or Nathaniel) and a Thomas Moore was also living in the area. Paul _WhitePaul@aol.com_ (mailto:WhitePaul@aol.com)
I would love to exchange information. Malcolm Munroe had a family Bible that was left to his daughter Catherine; they moved to ARkansas. Int the early 1900s one of his grandchildren had the Bible. Is the Bible you have ARchibald's original Bible? We have about 200 people coming on Saturday for a fish fry, but after that, I can concentrate on geneaology for a while! My file is so huge, I would probably need to print it out. I wish we could get together. I have a Marion Leonard Shaddix of Ashland, AL. who graduated from the Medical College of Alabama in Mobile in 1910. I know that he served as a county health officer for many years.
