The contracting parties were Mr. George Thornton House and Miss Sarah idora Carpenter. The beautiful parlor was artistically decorated. The bride and groom entered the parlor to the strains of Mendelssohns Wedding March, rendered by Miss Etta Steed. The happy couple stood under a beautiful arch of evergreens and roses, and the writer pronounced the words that made them man and wife. While the rites of matrimony were being solemnized, soft and sweet music was rendered. The bride looked beautiful and charming in her wedding gown of silk. Mrs. House is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jno L. Carpenter, and is a most excellent young lady of many amiable traits. She has taught school successfully for several years and is admired by a large circle of friends. Mr. House is a noble young man of LaFayette, Ala. Mr. House is being congratulated by all on his good fortune in winning Miss Carpenter as his bride. Immediately after the marriage they boarded the A B & A train at Lineville for LaFayette where they will reside in the future.
