Mr Cecil was married twice, the second time to Miss Velma who practically raised his kids. Ms Velma died when I was 10 years old (1967) and she was old then (?80's). I wonder if Cecil was related to the Brooks you are looking for?

My dad is Lemuel G. Stewart. So, I am that brick wall about Matt too. It is driving me crazy, I so want to find someone in Alabama who knew anything about my granddad's dad or any of that side of the family information. Lee Morris is also a cousin of mine and he has given me great deal of information. I am sure you probably know my dad, they use to call him Cotton, he lived with Aunt Thelma and Uncle Vaughn for a period of time and also with my Uncle Elvin. My dad is now 77 years old. I keep in touch with Stewart and Cile and I do like a family update to everyone ever so often. It is great to meet you over the internet, Daddy said he thought you were a friend of Uncle Elvin's but I guess it is Aunt Thelma instead. I love the Opelika/Auburn area and Uncle Elvin's son and daughter still live there. It is great to talk to you and I would love to get what ever information you may have. Thank you so mu! ch!!!!! A few years ago I did some family research for my old friend, Stewart Diamond, formerly of Greenville, AL. where I knew the family. He now lives in Hawaii. I knew his mother, Bessie Lee Thelma Stewart Diamond, very well, and his sister, Cile. Guv Stewart was Thelma's father. Her mother was Arcadia Sargent. She had a brother named Elvil and a sister named Mera. We hit a stone wall with Guv's father Matt. I hope you can break through it for us. I have written Stewart about your request for into. I kept all I have on a disk and I will look through it tomorrow. There are family pictures along with the information. I am so glad to make your acquaintance. I live in Auburn, AL. and am an amateur genealogist and an old friend of this family.
