Harriet, I am trying to think where my census records might be, but it is too late , and I am so tired that all I can do is think "bed". I hope I can remember to look in t he morning, and I hope I can find the answer to your question. There were 115 pages on Ancestry.com for the Chandler Springs area. Bluff Springs, Brownville and Chandler Springs were all mixed together. Each page had 40 names, so you can understand how tired I am from reading them today. That is where my Hanson ancestors lived at the time. Has anyone come across a breakdown of the census records that would show population numbers, employment, churches, businesses, schools, etc., that would give a picture of the overall Bluff Springs community? Who were the community leaders or elected officials, or where did folks come from? Just wondering if anyone knows what the make up of the community was in 1860. Harriet
Mary Ann, I have found Benjamin, Meredith and John Parsons on the 1860 Talladega,Bluff Springs, Census. I also found Richard Webber, Henderson Lakey, Malinda Lakey and Moses W. Lakey. William C. Lacky was in Brownville. Richard Webber was the father of William Pinkney Webber who married Mary Susanna Parsons. (My great grandparents). If you need anything on any of them, let me know. Would like to find info confirming the "Miles" name as some say the last name was Holloway but my father always said it was Miles. John Franklin later married Viola Reynolds and they moved to Texas with a second family and some of the children from the first family moved with them. James Harmon was my grandfather. That would make Mary Emma my great Aunt. Any info appreciated. please email bcd509@xit.net

Looking for information on James Alexander MINOR, born about 1820 possibly in AL. James MINOR married Lucinda McCAIN in or shortly before 1850 in Coosa County. She was the daughter of Glover McCAIN and Abigail GOODMAN. James and Lucinda lived in Coosa County 1850-1860. The 1870 census lists James MINOR in Elmore county, and Autauga county in 1880. Whether he physically moved or the county lines changed is unknown. Abigail McCAIN is listed in Clay county in 1870. James and Lucinda MINOR had the following children: Sarah Jane, Lucinda Catherine, Mary E., James G., Thomas B., Mildred Jackson, John K., and William C. The 1880 Autauga County census lists the parents of James MINOR as being born in SC. I would like to find out who his parents were. I will be happy to share the information I have on the line of James and Lucinda McCAIN MINOR. For detailed census information on AL MINOR and McCAINs (plus other related families) visit the following site: http://members.aol.com/btcmfox/adamswebpage.html Barry Fox Greenville, SC
I want to say Hi and introduce myself. I am Debra Boswell Crosby and I am the new Alabama Archives Host for Chambers, Clay and Tallapoosa counties.!!!!! Thanks to Carolyn Golowka. I have worked several years as a Georgia Archives host because that is where I live. My ancestors are from Alabama though and I am proud now to host the Archives site for at least 3 of the counties where my ancestors lived!!! I am here because I love genealogy and family history and want to share as much as possible with anyone researching these areas. I hope to contribute my own data as well as help other researchers contribute their family records to the Clay, Chambers& Tallapoosa Archives. It is my goal to post our county records online. I know that we spend hours retrieving this data for our own personal interest but I also know that many of you, like myself feel that we need to share this data. I'm here to help in any way possible. If you have data on families from these counties.... Clay,, Chambers,,,, Tallapoosa,, as in court records, biographies, wills, estates, cemeteries, census, millitary, deeds, obituaries, etc.....please send them to me and I will have them posted on the Archives. which has the largest "rootsweb search engines" and will help many researchers!! I'm here and trying to help future generations!!!! Let's make our counties grow!!! Thank you , Debra Crosby
I just want to say thank you to Sharon Patterson Boling, we now have the 1929 Graduating class of State Secondary Agricultural School online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Sharon for your generous contribution to the Clay Co. AlArchives!!!!!!!!!! Debra Boswell Crosby

If this is from my transcription, what you see online is what was on the record. I don't add or delete. I may make a note if I have had contact from a family member.
