We went to her 84th b'day 2 yrs ago in Lineville. I believe they had lived in ashland at one time, dau Jean Watts Johnson of Talladega, son Bud Watts of Lineville. I haven't worked on Watts or Wesson's very much. I also understand that my Jones line is also connected to the Watts of Clay co.

B 1863- 11/12/1894. She died at age 31 of scarlet fever. Her mother ran a boarding house at Rocky Todd clay co. she had a illigitmate brother named Tom. Johnnie married Lazarus Hudson of Clay co. They had 6 childrenLealia, my grandmother Mary jeannette, Othler, Curtis, Howard William, Milton Ernest.

I swam there as a kid in the 50's. The spring water ran through a pipe and kept the swimming pool full. The excess water ranoff into a creek. Water was very cold. Pyriton was named for Pyrite mines- Pyrite is fools gold. It was mined around the turn of the century and is an iron sulfide with industrial uses.

I am almost certain that your William D. Nichols was related to Thomas D. Nichols b 1849 in Al. he is the son of Thomas J. Nichols and Lavinia Owens from Ga. merrietta area LDS. Thomas lives near a William and his family 1850 Chambers Co. later 1860 in Randolph or clay. He for sure had brother name James R. Nichols married to Irene Young. more later

His great-grandmother Hagar Veler Roberson Nichols and great-grandfather, William David Nichols were my grandparents. I believe William David Nichols father's name was Van. I do not know if this is a shortened name or a first or middle name. My father's name was John Stacen (Station) Nichols. I have a list of all the children born to William David and Hager V. Roberson Nichols. I am currently 60 years old and remember my father's family talking about someone in the family whose name was Nancy Selena (Sleena) Bowen. I have some information on the family. At present I am at work and do not have the information with me, but will reply from my computer at home before very long.

Robertson and Mary Elizabeth Pursley raised a large family in Clay County, AL. William died on September 28, 1928, and is buried in Ebenezer Cemetery. His father, John Robertson, married Elizabeth Condry. Is this the line of Robertson's you are interested in?
