You could also write to the state dept. of vital statistics for her death certificate if that would help. Melitte E. Moon (Mrs. Robt. H.) has a Jefferson Co., AL, death certificate with death date Mar 1929. Vol. 22, Roll 3, page/certificate 10581. Elisabeth

I know there isn't a 1890 census, but can anyone give me any suggestions of what other resources might be available to help crack the brick wall on my gg-grandmother, Mahala (Makula on census) Peoples, located in Fox Creek, Clay County, in 1880 census living with children Eli, Ann and Mary J. Have not found her in 1900. Based on son's death certification, she may have married a Spears. Janice

Melitta Elizabeth Haynes, daughter of William Dawson and Lucretia Holland Haynes, was born 22 Aug 1854 in Talladega Co.,AL (now Clay Co.,AL). This information is from my Haynes records, I did not copy it from her headstone. Are you using the Haynes line, or the Pace line for her records? I have information on both families: Abraham Haynes in Kent Co.,MD in 1772, and Richard Pace in Jamestown, VA in the1620's. Hello: If anyone on this list has a record of persons buried in the Old Lineville Cemetery, I need a check up for the birthdate given on the headstone for Melittia Elizabeth Haynes MOON. (died 9 Sept. 1929). I understand that she and her husband, Robert Hartsfield MOON are buried in this cemetery. I am helping a cousin with her DAR application and we have a problem tracking down Mrs. Moon's correct birthdate. I live in Florida, so this would save me a long trip. Thank you, W. James Pace
