I am finding that there was a migration from Clarke/Wilcon/Marengo, Alabama to Mississippi during the early part of the 20th century. In some cases the located to Greenwood/Sidon, MS, in what is now LeFlore County.\ Some of told me it could have a flood (now know there was no flood in Clarke), boll weavel, drought, disease, following evangelism ministers, work on the delta/river/turpintine/no-weavel cotton, lumber, ... What have other experienced? Looking at a map, it seems like a big move from a place with varied resources to a far away place that was very different. Travel from 1900-1920 was not easy. Why leave?
