My grandfather's younger brother, Albert Sidney Davis, was born in Milam County, TX in 1881. In the 1900 census, he is shown as living in Clarke County with his aunt and uncle, Alexander Harvey Grayson (his mother's younger brother) and Caroline Emily Deborah Davis Grayson (his father's youngest sister) and with his grandmother, Melissa Cliff Finch Davis. He died in Birmingham, AL in 1927. I find no record of him in between his birth and the 1900 census. His father and his brothers moved on to Bell County, TX by 1886; I also find no record of his mother after his birth. I am wondering whether his mother may perhaps have died during his early childhood and he was taken back to Alabama to live with family. Might there be school records existent from that era which might show whether he was actually in Clarke County at any point between, say, 1886 and 1900? Nancy Davis Harwood Houston, TX
