Eliza Reasor Holt's photo is in the "Images of America, Clarke County", page 92, along with thw statement "Eliza Reasor Holt, the wife of Nathan Holt, must have spent her life in service to others.In her young life in Bashi, she was a slave. In later life, she was a mid-wife. Mrs. Holt was born in 1836 and died 1940. Remembering the long life (104 years) of Mrs. Holt allows us a brief glimpse into the past and deepens our appreciation for progress made sine her time." There sounds as if there is a story for Mrs. Holt to recieve such distintion. Perhaps the Thomasville newspaper wrote of jer 100 year birthday or at the time of her death. I would like to know more.
