    1. David or Jesse Griffin
    2. Possum
    3. Hello everyone, Since we are all talking about our family surnames, I thought I would repost my efforts also. I am looking for the family to prove or disprove the connection of my John M. Griffin born 1849 in Alabama to the Griffin family from Clarke County. What I know so far is David or Jesse Griffin was in Clarke County, both were killed in battle 1813...I don't have the notes right in front of me. They were twins and killed in a battle with the "Indians"... So...it's thought one of them married or both married and had the following.... John born December 25, 1807 married Sarah Glass on October 10, 1835 in Clarke County...Together they had 7 children one of which was John Griffin born 1849...who I believe is my direct line...John and Sarah had a daughter named Celestina which may or may not be part of my Great Grandmother's name...from her marriage record this name appears to be middle name also. Since she passed away in 1915 we really don't know for sure. John Griffin most likely was brother to William Griffin born 1813 and married Anne Drinkard,. they had 3 children that I know of. Ivey, John, and Margaret. I know that in 1910 John M Griffin born 1849 was in Monroe County Alabama and married to Ann E. E. Lizelle "Lizzie" Mc Kinley, they were married in 1868. Together they had 5 children their youngest being my Great Grandmother. I am searching to find out more about the Griffin's of Clarke County to prove or disprove the connection. Any help on these Griffin's would be greatly appreciated. Other area names I am researching... Daniel/Daniels/Stabler/McDonald/Harris/Turberville/Bohannon/McKinley/Barlow. ..all in the Monroe/Conecuh/Clarke county area Thanks Debbie
