Hi Everyone, I think that Betty Collins may have found my family of Martins; but I still need help! Betty found a J.S. Martin on the 1870 census who may be my g-g-grandfather. Yesterday I went to the library and sure enough he was on the 1870 Baker/Chilton Census ; living in Chestnut Creek; with daughter L. J. Martin 12 years old. ( Right age for my Larcenia and right area to meet my Obediah Vincent/Vinson.) Living in the house is a M. F. Foshee age 18; female and W.E. Foshee age 15; male. Both are white. Also a Bill Bass age 25 ; male who is black and a farm laborer. Next door is another Foshee family ; this family is black. On the other side is the Smithermans- 2 houses. While I was at the library; I again found this same J.S. Martin on the 1860 Bibb/Chilton Census; wife Elizabeth. This time the daughter L. J . wasn't living in the house; but had several children. And they again were living next door to a Foshee family. J.W Foshee age 48 farmer and his wife Sarah; with several children. The two census that I got; are hard to read and did not print well enough to read all names. I would like to know if anyone has a connection to this Foshee family or the Martins. I have been wondering if this Martin's wife Elizabeth maiden name isn't Foshee. Any help on this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thank-you for your time.
