I have not done any research in Elmore Co. so cannot help you there. Please remember that until 1866 and 1868 respectively, large parts of Elmore and Chilton County were then part of Autauga County. Any records before those dates would be found in Autauga Co. Courthouse. We have a good genealogy room at the Autauga County Heritage Museum in Prattville. Also, be sure to check our Autauga County genweb site <http://www.rootsweb.com/~alautaug/> which has many online databases, including census, cemeteries, marriages, and probate records, that might help you prepare. Hope this helps, John ----------- John K. Brown, Jr. jkbrown@mindspring.com Researching: Burt, Brown, Abney, Watts
