Hi all, The Bureau of Land Management has a great new website where you can search many of the records of federal land grants after 1820. This includes Alabama.You can search by several different methods and can view a digital version of the oridginal document. Caution however I have seen a case where their info differs from the WPA data by Barefeild but with access to the oridginal it should be easy to check. I recommend this site to everyone, some grants were still being issued in very late part of the 19th century. Also the info is indexed by the PRESENT county location of the land.
