Hello Robert -- Thanks for responding. My people are from Autauga, Chilton, and Jefferson counties in Alabama. Here's what I know about my direct ancestors and where they lived (taken mainly from census records): 1. CLEMENT BILLINGSLEY, Autauga Co. 1830 & 1840 censuses, will filed 6 Oct 1841 Autauga Co. 2. Clement and wife's son: WILLIAM B. BILLINGSLEY (d1835 in Autauga Co.) 3. William B. and wife Nancy A.'s son: CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS BILLINGSLEY (b1816, d after 1900), Autauga Co. 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900 censuses. 4. CC and wife Nancy Griffis/Griffin's son: JOHN ROPER BILLINGSLEY (b1847, d before 1919), Autauga Co. 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 censuses; Chilton Co. 1900, 1910 censuses. 5. John R. and wife Martha's son: CLAUD BILLINGSLEY (b1886, d1937 in Birmingham), Chilton Co. 1900 census, Baldwin Co. 1910 census, Birmingham City Directory 1922. 6. Claud and wife Georgia Mae McLemore's daughter: JANE FAIR BILLINGSLEY (b1919 in Birmingham). Jane Fair Billingsley is my mother. When she was young, her family lived in Birmingham and Homewood. In the 1930s she and her family lived in Thorsby, where Mom attended the Congregational School. She also spent time in Clanton. For many years, my grandmother, Georgia, taught high-school English in Maplesville. My mother's only sib was Brady Billingsley, who lived in Nashville most of his adult life. Her father Claud's sibs were: James W., William J., John G., Samuel R., Edward, Sidney J., Lela, Nancy M., May, Ira, and possibly Minerva. What's your story?
