Barbara, This is most likely the same Jane Popwell I have, but I don't have any dates on her. However, my "cuz", Tom Guffin, may have more info on the Popwell side. Tom and I have the same ancestors starting with James Lewis Dupree, b. ca 1829. James Lewis Dupree had 3 sons: John T., James Lewis Jr., and William Henry Dupree (my g-g grandfather). Tom's g-g grandfather was James Lewis Dupree, Jr., b. 1857 and m. Samentha Elizabeth Easterling, b. 1859. Also, I have had the pleasure of working with Rev. Cecil Little over the past couple of years. He is the "expert" on Chilton Co. (Chestnut Creek area). Do you know any relatives of Rebecca Ann Mims, who was married to Alfred Baker? I'm trying to find the exact birthday of Charlotte Baker-b. ca. 1867, Alfred and Rebecca's daughter. She was my g-grandmother who married William Henry Dupree. She is buried in an unmarked grave in the Walnut Creek Methodist Church cemetary. With Rev. Little's help, I am going to put a headstone there for her, and some of their children.
