    3. Hi, I'm related to many of the families in Chestnut Creek area. I've not worked out many of the relantionship's though. The reference to Verbena and yellow fever was probally the book listed on this page. http://www.concentric.net/~Dddennis/chilvol.htm I had combined several pages which is probablly why you couldn,t find it. Verbena was a summer home to many wealthy Montgomery famlies who came there to avoid the plauges of yellow fever due to the swampy area around Montgomery. The land from just south of Verbena is flat more or less all the way to the gulf and the Alabama River around Montgomery could flood many acres. My Grandmothers first husband was a Martin, most of the Martins I know of early in this century were from Jemison. Sorry I have no info to offer on them.
