Hi everyone, I sure hope one of you can help me. I have been trying to find my g-grandmother now for quite some time!! Her name was Larcenia (Larceny) Martin born in Alabama around 1857;her father was from Tenn and her mother was from Alabama. She married Obediah Vinson/Vincent ( grandson to Obediah Vincent who lived in Chestnut Creek ) around 1875; I believe in Alabama.( I also believe that she could have been a cherokee or creek indian.) Two of their children were born in Texas- my grandfather Jesse Severe Vinson and George Harmon Vinson ( He owned a restaurant in Clanton- I think early 1900's.) . Their other two children - Elsie Guy Vinson and Frances May Vinson were born in or around Clanton and Verbena- 1892 to 1894. My Larceny did not make it to the 1900 census-; in 1897 Obediah was remarried. In 1912 my g-uncle told people that they were from VERBENA. I looked on the web site for Chilton and saw something about the town of Verbena and yellow fever but when I went back again to read it when I had more time; I couldn't find it. Can anyone tell me about Verbena and does it have any cemeteries there? Also if there is any of you with my Larceny in your family ;please let me know.
