Hello -- I'm having trouble locating the graves of my great grandparents, John Roper Billingsley and his wife Martha <maiden name unknown>. I'll appreciate any suggestions. A kind correspondent informed me that the book "Cemeteries of Chilton" (compiler Chilton Co. Historical Society and Archives, Inc.; editor Benjamin D. Roberts; publisher Mail Specialist, Clanton, AL) had this listing for Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, on page 239: Billingsley, J.R. 12 Sep 1847 - 12 Sep 1922 Billingsley, J.R., Mrs. 30 Oct 1856 - 15 Sep 1935 Within the past several weeks, my cousin visited Thorsby Memorial Cemetery and could not find the graves. He then went to the Thorsby town hall, and he and a staff member there looked over the records for the cemetery and were unable to find John R. or Martha (they did find other Billingsleys: John & Elizabeth, and Emmit & Virgie). What are we doing wrong? Does anyone know whether Mr. Roberts or the Chilton Co. Historical Soc. can be reached by email? I'd like to ask them how they found John and Martha's graves. Thanks.
