    2. There are several Martin families in the Jemison area of Chilton Co., which was Shelby County in 1856. The 1870 Baker Co (renamed Chilton) shows an E.J. Mc Culluough 27,W.,M. in that area. That's Precinct 2. I don't think the civil districts changed too much though it might be called Beat 2 or District 2 on different years. I mention it because sometimes it's easier to search the area than to use the soundex. On the later ones they are so large it's really a job if you have to go through the whole census a page at a time.
