The CEMETERIES OF CHILTON© was not ever a book by Benjamin D. Roberts. The book CEMETERIES OF CHILTON© was and is by the Chilton County Historical Society and Archives, Inc. Many, many, many very hard working individuals contributed long hours doing cemetery surveys and contributed freely those cemetery surveys to the book that was compiled as the CEMETERIES OF CHILTON©. The person mentioned prepared an index or edited the CEMETERIES OF CHILTON© book project as their contribution to the Chilton County Historical Society and Archives, Inc. cemetery book project. Because of fallings out and hard feelings a person has apparently retained the information of that book as perhaps a grudge against the Society and once the book was sold out, that person has held that compiled information to their selves, not making it available to be reprinted. If it could be reprinted, there is a demand and need long recognize! d and established by Chilton County Alabama families, descendants and researchers across the country and it would be reprinted. Efforts to obtain the data is too expensive and the outcome too unpredictable for such a small group as the CCHSA to pursue. Otherwise, the hard work contributed to the book, the true authors of the compiled book would be in reprint and available to your and others today. We are sorry for this situation, but it is beyond the control of the CCHSA to provide you with the compiled work of those who actually wrote/authored/provided/wrote the CEMETERIES OF CHILTON©. Some of the named earliest work compiled was credited to Sue Hardy Thomas and Thomas F. McCord, then followed by a listing of over FIFTY other authors/contributors. And as Paul Harvey often said... "and now you know (most of) the rest of the story. I believe this information to be factual and true, but you should research it to your satisfaction and make your own determinations. Good day.
