Surnames: Jones, Bates Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HS.2ADI/1284.2 Message Board Post: On October 7, 1834, Sidney Bates and Lewis J Jones purchased the Northwest ¼ of Section 21, Township 23N, Range 15E of Alabama. This quarter section of land is about adjacent to the intersection of Chilton Rd #8 and #61 east of 61 and south of 8. This is in what use to be called Jumbo, AL. They later split the land east and west. Sidney Bates is my gggrandfather and I have not followed the Jones family. About 1/2 mile south of the intersection one comes to the Lime Springs United Methodist Church and cemetery on Chilton County Rd #61. On my visit about 2 years ago I remember seeing some Jones on the grave markers. I hope this will be useful to you. Frank bates
